Happy Halloween Pic is from a Worth1000.com photoshop competion; askes a simple question: If the renaissance took place in more recent times, and the models were famous movie monsters/aliens, what would the artwork have looked like?
I’m guessing most people out there are familiar with muppets. Those puppet type things, well they aren’t what I’m taking about when I say muppet Oh no! when I say muppet I mean “you feckin’ fool you”. So from now on, instead of saying “you fool” say “ya muppit” and you too can sound […]
Novelization of the film by the same name.
Where do you start when you go to write a novelization? Do you just stick to the script, or go off on little tangents of your own? How much can you make up, do you get to collaborate with the director, or talk to any of the actors? Must be pretty hard, imo, to get a good book out of a film, any film.
And I suppose, even more so with Serenity. After all, Joss is god, so how could anyone else do anything but struggle to reinterpret his ‘verse?
This is not a good read, too much of it is like bad fan fiction, only without the benefit of mad sidelines and impossible storylines. I suppose we all have our versions of what goes on inside the characters’ heads, but I rarely agreed with what DeCandido put there.
This is, in a way chapter two, but I’ve left out a bit from the end of chapter 1. Not sure if that is a permanent leaving out, or if I’ll go back and insert it later. We’ll see.
I’ll stick up the nomination process and judging process tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me!
Work is a bit *meh* at the moment. Stuff to be done, but I can’t do it cause of IT-related issues. You know how it goes, you sit down to email and the computer explodes Still, I do get to exercise ultimate power, the power to go down and tell silly peoples that “Like dude, […]
I don’t mean to alarm anyone, but it is only Tuesday. Only tuesday! Do you know what that means. It means that I’ve had less than two full days at work. And have three more to go. This is just unacceptable. Something must be done to make today Wednesday. At once. I love my Wednesday’s. […]
So got a text message this morning from “da mudder” who informs me that brother #5 is in hospital, undergoing surgery for an elbow injury. He was playing a game of rugby and got tackled and damaged some bone in his arm. It is fractured and partly detaching from where it should be. So he’ll probably be sport-free until after Christmas. That’ll really annoy him. Specially considering that it was only a Sligo game, and he’d finally been picked for the Connacht team, not to mention his playing for the school
My brothers, the accident-prone.
Anyways, more of the fic under the cut iffin your interested.

I always meant to see Spirited Away, but never got around to it, so I’m glad I got a chance to see this film, by the same director, in the cinema. Based on the book of the same title by Dianna Wynne Jones, Howl’s Moving Castle is an anime cartoon telling the story of Sophie, a young hatmaker who is cursed by the Witch of the Waste and turned into a ninty year old woman. The only way for her to break the curse is to help Howl and his fire demon Calcifer break the curse that they are suffering under. Read more about Howl’s Moving Castle …

Newark was left behind and the post-chaise-and-four entered on a stretch of flat country which offered little to attract the eye, or occasion remark. It just didn’t seem right to me. We resumed our journey, gentlemen, but the road, instead of improving, became even viler. Men don’t exist. They won’t. I am content.
My sources are; Regency Buck by Georgette Heyer, The Outsiders by SE Hinton, A Masked Ball and other stories by Alexandre Dumas, where we once belonged by Sia Figiel, and Fool’s Fate by Robin Hobb. And I cheated by having two sentences from one book, simply because they were so short and made no sense alone.
