Full of grace

25 October 2005

I don’t mean to alarm anyone, but it is only Tuesday. Only tuesday!

Do you know what that means. It means that I’ve had less than two full days at work. And have three more to go. This is just unacceptable. Something must be done to make today Wednesday. At once.

I love my Wednesday’s. Sure, they aren’t quite as good as Friday’s but they mean that I’ve worked more than I have to go. Once you make it to Wednesday everything is okay. But today, today is Tuesday.

Le sigh [1]

In other exciting news from Ireland [2] we’ve had quite the scandal. See a politician died in a car crash over the weekend. A politician who has been to jail because he couldn’t remember certain details. I won’t go into details because I don’t really know, stuff about money and who gave what to whom, and who was at a meeting, and who wasn’t.[3] So Sunday morning[4] the papers were screaming about Lawlor and him dying in a car crash in Russia, in the red-light district, with a hooker in the car. An under-age hooker at that. Screaming, in big bright headlines.

Only it turns out that the poor Mr. Lawlor had been guilty of being in a taxi with an interpreter! Shock horror. As you can guess the papers are full of apologies. Or at least the Irish papers are. The Observer (British) published the same story, but has yet to apologise. I’ve no clue as to what the tabloids are doing.
