Katie Taylor is undoubtedly Ireland’s greatest sports person ever. She is one of the greatest female boxers in the world. Her father, and coach, Peter Taylor has already expressed his dismay at the lack of coverage her achievements receive. The way she is treated by the State’s national broadcaster is a disgrace.Sort it the fuck out, RTÉ. via RTÉ Sports Person

Yes, once more it is that time of the year. Rugby has returned with a vengeance. The Magners League has been on for a few weeks, and now it is the second week of the Heinekin Cup. Course what with not having Sky Sports I don’t get to watch the actual games. But I have just watched RTE’s highlights package.

Rated PG for fantasy action/violence involving scary images and situations, and for a smoking caterpillar.

I have a dilemma. See I find it very hard to support Wales in rugby. But this weekend they are playing France. And I really want France to lose… I’m just so conflicted! Obviously we are going to win in Twickenham. I mean, that does without saying. Doesn’t it? As for Italy v Scotland. Again I’m of the conflicted persuasion,

So weekend one of this year’s Six Nations is over and done with, verdicts all in? For the most part I think that the winning teams don’t have too much to write home about. We didn’t put in a huge performance, but we won, so it’ll do. And to be fair, we never seem to pile on the points against Italy. So all those “doom and gloom” commentators can hang on til next weekend. Then they turn those frowns upside down as we beat France.

I know you are all trés excited about this weekend. And any number of future weekends. Yes, that’s right by fellow rugby fans, the Six Nations is almost here. And already the meeja is hyped beyond belief. Will we win the Grand Slam for the second year in a row.

Or will we do the unthinkable and lose to Italy?

Its been a busy weekend. Sat was all about the rugby. Obviously enough :) We headed to the pub for one o’clock. France V Italy went as expected, to France. Then it was England v Scotland, and again the team I didn’t want to win won. Booo! And finally at half five it was time for our game. And we all knew Wale’d be tough but still I knew we were going to win. No doubts. It’d be close, I knew that, but I was just so certain we’d win.

I’ve just upgraded my wordpress installation. Have to say I’m not too sure about this new layout thingy; but I’m sure I’ll get used to it. It is the first weekend of this year’s Six Nations! Yay! Ireland played France in our opener in Croke Park. I was there two years ago when we lost to that last-gasp try. So

Well now, it really has been a while, hasn’t it. I promise, one day I’ll stop starting all my posts in this manner. But that day it not today. Not today… I’ve made an August resolution that I’ll post more regularly. I’m hoping for at least twice a week. My fingers are crossed but god only knows what reality will
