September round-up

I think that working in the public sector has led to some bleed through. Stats are a huge part of my job, monthly, quarterly, yearly! All the stats.

So here is my monthly round up of books I’ve read in September 2017

• H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald
• The Pearl Thief by Elizabeth Wein
• I am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes
• The Power by Naomi Alderman
• Pyramids by Terry Pratchett

If I had to recommend just one out of those I would have to say read H is for Hawk, it is a wonderful book. More of a memoir dealing with one person’s grief interspersed than a natural history book. But I’d also urge you to read The Power because it was a really good read.

September brings me to 24 books read & reviewed by women and 16 by men. I still need to do better on diverse authors and stories.
