Ireland not good enough

Good thing I was fairly accepting of our not going to Germany before hand wasn’t it?

We didn’t lose. So I suppose it wasn’t a total disaster. But in reality it was. Not quite so dire as against Cyprus, but still crap. I know, all Switzerland has to do was defend, but exactly how many good chances on goal did we have? Why a grand total of two, and that is being generous.

ireland bows outCourse the papers are full of anti-Kerr headlines today. I don’t know, I quite like Brian Kerr, but then again the manager is responsible. So he has crap players (with a few exceptions), but does that excuse the attitude of the team? I don’t know. Don’t think it really matters, he’ll be gone by the end of the week, I’d say.

So now I’ve got to start thinking about a team to support for the World Cup…

I'd bet on Germany, Brazil, and England. NOT my team of choice, you understand, but my gutfeeling says those are safe. (I really do know shit about football, don't I?!)

England have the players, but with Sven as manager I can't see them winning. (I'll be proved wrong now). Germany I haven't seen enough of. Brazil, well, they're brazil aren't they.

Still, think I'll find a smaller team to support.

Sorry to hear that. I'm not a big soccer fan but as a sports fan in general can definitely commiserate with you. It always sucks when your team doesn't perfom well. Hopefully you can still enjoy the rest of the World Cup…if not, go see Serenity again and leave your woes behind.

Well obviously everyone has to support Scotl….. oh bugger! Trinidad and Tobago look like they're going to qualify. They could be fun!

If Scotland were there I'd be supporting them :) If only because I like the anthem. T&T, maybe…
