This is such an odd little book. It tells the tale of an ear who wakes one day to find that their head is gone. How can they go on without a head, because that’s where their brain was afterall.

But it turns out that an ear without a mouth is a very good listener and soon animals are coming to share their worries and concerns, and to ease their pains.

It is inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s cutting off of his ear, but there is no mention of that.

I would say that the text is quite small for a picture book, but the illustrations are great. Unique and different, I really liked them.
