Feb round-up

3 March 2019

Well that’s February over and done with. It seems to have lasted a good while, but then again it was my birthday month and I turned 40, so twas a big one.

I was going to say that I didn’t get much reading done, but it turns out I read 6 books. So that’s not bad. Okay one of them was a picture book, Old Hushwing by Alan Brown but it had some lovely illustrations of owls so I had to look at it.

I really enjoyed reading T.H. White: a biography but I think that my favourite book of the month has to have been Outside the Gates by Molly Gloss. I should have guessed it would be as I’ve loved everything that I’ve read by her.

Filmwise my trips to the cinema were limited to seeing Cold Pursuit, and it was utter rubbish and The Lego Movie 2 which was great, although I didn’t get around to reviewing it. I watched 12 films in February and I think the best of them was BlacKkKlansman, if you haven’t seen it I would highly recommend that you check it out.

Television show-wise I’ve been continuing my great GOT rewatch and have made it up to season 2. I also finished The Punisher season 2, it strange how that show celebrates murdering bad guys when all the other Marvel shows are very much of the death is not cool tone. I also finished season three of The Last Kingdom as Uthred continues his destiny is all journey.

February also saw Alan Partridge return to the BBC with This Time which was great.
