Rule #76: No excuses. Play like a champion!

13 January 2006

Its film-fun time again (see how I just transformed a once-off random post into a re-occuring event). Below the cut are 10 pictures, id the films for me. Most are quite easy, if I ever when I do this again I must go looking for real tough ones. Remember no googling allowed.
If you want to embiggen the pix then clicking should help.

Yeah, I'll follow NineMoons, she seems to know her stuff. ;)

  3. Carl V. says:

    I recognize

    1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    2. Finding Neverland
    6. Whale Rider
    8. Strictly Ballroom
    9. Serenity

I know, its pretty sad really…

  4. Fence says:

Damnations, knew they were too easy.

NM, you got #10 wrong. So that leaves 4 and 10 still to be identified.

  5. NineMoons says:

Doh, typed too fast and without thinking. It's so obviously Edward Scissorhands.

  6. weenie says:

Um…number 10 is Serenity? Pass on the others! Yeah, I'm rubbish!

  7. auds says:

I didn't get a single one. Feel so stupid.

  8. 'Embiggen'? Someone's been watching The Simpsons. ;)

  9. NineMoons says:

See Fence, it's not that they're easy, it's just that I'm so frakkin brilliant.
Am having a problem with your site. Going into it off favourites, it keeps going to the older version (no new posts or comments) stead of the newest version. My prob or yours? Don't think I've done anything different.

  10. Fence says:

4 is still unknown. Any guesses?

NM, I haven't done anything, and I'm not having problem so must be on your end. And seeing as you are so great we'll have to ban you from playing next time :)

  11. NineMoons says:

k, here we go – number four could be (and I emphasise the could…): Young Guns (1 or 2) or possibly Open Range. It's obviously a Western of some description and I'm betting it's not an old one. But I just don't reckernise the actor and can't do anything with it.
I feel like such a failure.
Brainwave – the problemo with me and your site could be due to the new firewall thingy in the building?

  12. john says:

Number 4 is Diego Luna in Open Range, innit?
Number 10 I would never have gotten. Is it Ed Scissorhands? Nice comp. Fence

  13. Fence says:

Yup, #4 is Open Range, and #10 is Edward Scissorhands.

Hopefully I'll remember to run the comp again next month, or perhaps it shall be a bi-monthly event (bi in the sence that it happens every two months, not twice a month), who knows.

  14. NineMoons says:

OK, I officially rule this competition.
Two wrong guesses but even so, I got there in the end. Still feel like an eejit for not getting Ed first time round. The ice shards from the ice sculptures totally escaped my notice.
I think I should point out that I have an advantage in that I know most of your DVD collection…

  15. Tom Cruise says:

    I agree on number four.

But I'm thinking 1. Star Wars, 2. Pirates of the Caribbean, 3. Too Fast Too Furious, 4. n/a, 5. The World Cup, 6. Planet of The Apes, 7. Godzilla, 8. Bill Clinton Goes Hollywood, 9. Spongebob Squarepants, 10. Erin Brockovich.

Believe me, I know my movies ;-)
I mean, Enron: Risky Business, and then The Terminator and Kim Possible.

  16. Fence says:

I'll go change the pics just so you can be right Tom :)

Look everybody, its the real Tom Cruise…
