‘The sun gives life, and it takes it away But like all the greats, it’ll burn out someday’

3 November 2005

Don’t you hate it when you hear a song on the radio, and you really like it, so you go and buy the album and find out that the live version you heard is way better than the recorded version?
Then again, maybe it’s just that I got used to hearing the live version, and only had time to listen the album version of Rocky took a lover once. Just a question of getting used to it?

You know the way that the new Pippa[1] in Home & Away was never regarded as the real Pippa, despite the fact that that actress was probably in the role for twice the length of the original.

Still, quite enjoyed what little I heard of Flock, the new album by Bell X1. Plus it still has some of those great lines that made me pay attention in the first place:

She said ‘Would ya go away and shite
Last night all you did was curse those stars
You said they sang to you of hope’

I could pretend to tie this next bit in by telling you that in a different song Bell X1 reference Nixon, and so America, but I won’t bother.

I was going to bitch about how blogger was acting up, and I couldn’t visit any of my usual sites, but then out of the blue they all worked again. So the shaking and the sweats stopped as I clicked and read

Compared to what happened in "24", that war answer has me all befuddled now.

  2. Fence says:

Well 24 is our guiding light. Or it would be if I watched it this season…

    What answer did you give?

  3. Andi says:

I got 8 of 10, too. I was sweating there for a moment.

  4. Fence says:

I just wish they'd tell you the answers at the end.

    Laurel died.

  7. Fence says:

:( Poor Laurel. How are your parents?

For those wondering, Laurel is a little kitten that NM's parents found stuck in a tree

Dad's very upset. Mum's on her way to France so I haven't talked to her. It happened last night but they only told Dad now. The vet thinks she had something wrong with her and that's why she was abandoned by her mother. I feel so bad for her and for mum and dad. They got so attached to her. I really thought she'd been saved. Poor little thing.

  9. Fence says:

Well I suppose at least she didn't die sitting up in the tree.

And at least she spent her last few days snuggling up to some kind people instead of alone and miserable. still hurts though.
