RIP v round-up

31 October 2010

Happy Hallowe’en everybody. Unfortunately this year I didn’t get to dress up & party. I had my costume, all ready to rock and roll, but on the day I just wasn’t feeling very well. And there was also travel involved. So I had to give it a miss, unfortunately. Nevertheless I did manage to get my Hallowe’en on with this year’s RIP challenge hosted by Carl. .

My books and films were

  • Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce. Werewolves and red cloaks!
  • The Village dir. by M. Night Shymalan.
  • Summer of Night by Dan Simmons
  • Soulless by Gail Carriger
  • The Small Hand by Susan Hill
  • The Fall by Chuck Hogan & Guillarmo del Toro
  • Alien dir. by Ridley Scott
  • Changeless by Gail Carriger
  • Blameless by Gail Carriger
  • And for many many more reviews you can visit the RIP review site

My favourite books were the Parasol Protectorate series, which I adored. And The Small Hand by Gail Carriger. And because Carl introduced the idea of the Peril on Screen I got to revisit two creepy Hallowe’en-y films. And I think, for the final final bit I might watch The Crow tonight.

I didn't go anywhere this Halloween either. It was actually nice to sit home and watch the World Series and read a bit!

We didn't actually get around to watching The Crow, instead we watched a BBC drama/documentary from 1992 called Ghostwatch. Was quite entertaining & very halloween-ey

Aw, man, you didn't get to go! That's shite. :-( And your costume was so awesome too.

One of the advantages of not doing a 'topical' costume! I managed to use neither of the costumes I borrowed off you. Someone better have a fancy dress New Year's party or something. Such waste otherwise! :-)
