I’m still not totally on board with the new Wordpress layout. I think long term it’ll turn out to be handy, but at the moment I’m still getting used to it.

I’m also still thinking about what to read for this year’s Once Upon a Time Challenge. Carl’s deadline for participating isn’t til Midsummer’s Eve, so i have a bit of time left, and a fair few books I think’ll fit sitting on the “I really should start reading” pile. But I’ve also almost finished two other books, final few chapters yet I can’t seem to get motivated enough to pick them up, which is surprising, as one^[1] is very very good.

As you can see I’ve changed the theme, but I’m not sure if it’ll stay for long. I may see about altering the header image. Not hugely, but a tad. We’ll see.

Anything else? Erm… not really so I’m off now.

and how are we all? Been a while since the last proper post, and I don’t know if I’m back in the swing of things yet, but sure, what the hell. Felt like a post so here I am.

Let me see, what has been going on since last I made an appearance. Not very much at all to be honest. Work is kinda busy. Exam time is coming and the geese are getting fat… or the students are busy cramming, something like that.

Took a few days off and visited Rome. Which was nice.

Apart from that nada. Haven’t been reading all that much, and haven’t really seen anything fantabulous in the kino either. Well, In Bruges was great, but apart from that.

I’ve upgraded wordpress to the newest version, and I gotta say, I’m not totally sure about it. Tis very different. Maybe that is the problem. Too different, I gotta get used to it.

I had the weirdest of dreams last night; never fear I shan’t bore you with the fuzzy details that linger on in my memory. I’ll just tell you that it involved dead bodies, weird soldiers, life on the run, and other such exciting adventures.

Dreams can be quite strange you know.

For feck’s sake. It’s the 7th of January already. 7 days of 2008 have come and gone and I haven’t blogged at all. Not really. That little post doesn’t count, that was just a “hey, how are ya” sort of post. Not only that, but I also haven’t really been commenting on other blogs^[1] neither. I blame the whole “catch-up catch-up” mentality I had at the start of the year. All those posts to read meant no time to leave a comment.

Whatever.

I’m back in the swing of things now though. At least I think I am. I’ve left comments on blogs today^[2] So we’re all good to go.

Or we would be, if I had something to say, but I’m decidedly thought-constipated^[3] lately. Not verbally. I mean, look at all the words I’ve already typed out, so yes, I can blather on and on, but it is all with the nothingness. Very little of the point-making.

And those of you who are now thinking, there were points in the past? Well, y’all can just hush. They were subtle, well-hidden points, full of meaning and depth for those^[4] who’d care to look hard enough.

But, in an effort to kick the auld brain into action I have decided to post. Despite my lack of a reason. After all, perhaps the very meaningless nature of this particular post is really laced with meaning, in a meta/philosophical/arsey way. Then again perhaps not.

Christmas was christmas. There was eating and presents and rain and family and even mass. All the usual whatchamacallits. And New Years was new years, with the annual delay in all texts and everyone went crazy with the “Happy New Year” text to everyone in their phonebook. And now, here we are, back with the routine of work and everything. Course I’m still thinking that we should only work a four day week. But no one seems to have the guts^[5] to implement my plan. Boo hiss.

I did plan to post some photos today, to illustrate the wonder that is xmas, but I can’t be arsed at the moment. I’m off to have some nummy soup instead.
