If I’m totally honest, I’ve nothing really to say about this film. It wasn’t good. But it wasn’t bad. I went for the Kiefer-ness
Basic plot - there is a plot to kill the president and it seems that there is a mole in the Secret Service. So Sutherland’s Breckinridge is called in to follow the evidence. Which of course ends up pointing at Douglas’ Garrison. They used to be friends, but Breckinridge thinks that Garrison had an affair with his wife, so their relationship isn’t the best. Blah blah, cue dramatic music. Shoot-outs. high-tech gadgets and other bits and bobs.
It is a fairly competent thriller-type, but I really didn’t care. The problem may be that we all know that Douglas isn’t going to turn out to be the mole. And we all know that in the end Sutherland will figure this out. And we all know that a film like this will never actually kill off the president of the United States of America. And since we know all that, how on earth are we supposed to feel any tension or drama?
