I was a little disappointed in these graphic novels. Mainly because they often seemed to look for the cheap laugh while at the same time trying to be all gritty at the same time. You can usually go for one or the other, but both at the same time usually doesn’t work.

For a lot of this book I really really liked it. I never quite loved it; but for a while I did really enjoy it. The writing is great. And the premise was interesting. But it just didn’t work in the end. And I think that one of the major problems was that the character who makes this big decision, well, I just didn’t get why she made it. And I really didn’t understand why other characters went along with her. That wasn’t the only problem, it just meant that I was less forgiving of the others
I knew going to see this film that I’d be disappointed. Was a big fan of the game but I’d heard negative things about this film. Often when that happens you go to the cinema with your bucket of popcorn and are pleasantly surprised that the film isn’t as dreadful as you’d feared. Unfortunately that just isn’t the case with Max Payne.
the basic plot involves detective Max Payne who is trying to find the 3rd man of a gang that killed his wife and child. To that end he has moved to the cold case department, where he sits, pretty much alone and doing the whole brooding thing. Then another murder might provide a clue as to the identity of the killer.

I just don’t know. I really wanted to like this film. The few trailers I saw really seemed to hint at an interesting film. And despite the low-key opening weekend I was expecting some form of entertainment. I didn’t get it.

I’m not quite sure what I was expecting from this film, but I didn’t get it. The plot should have been able to create tension and drama easily enough. After all you can’t really get more tension filled than a terrorist attack now can you? Well, maybe if you through in the fact that the […]
In this, the third X-Men film, there are two main plot lines. One concerns Jean Grey and her return from death in the form of the ultra powerful Dark Phoenix. The other revolves around a cure for the mutant gene, and what this will mean for the X-Men, and for mutants everywhere. Only trouble is, […]
I’m a big fan of Pitch Black, that low budget horror in space. And I used to be a big fan of Vin Diesel’s but recent film-roles have made me all a bit meh. Still, I’m surprised it took me this long to get around to watching this film, but I finally caved and got […]
ISBN: 0006483879 Found this to be a very disappointing read. I read the previous two in this series: The Silver Wolf and The Night of the Wolf and while neither of them are spectacularly great novels they were both interesting, well-written stories. Despite being set in the same world, and dealing with many of the […]
