Night of the Dolphin

Published by Fence under Ramblings

I know, I should be concerned about animal welfare, and the fact people may die, but a story about “Armed and dangerous killer dolphins” just strikes me as hi-larious

Armed dolphins, trained by the US military to shoot terrorists and pinpoint spies underwater, may be missing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Experts who have studied the US navy’s cetacean training exercises claim the 36 mammals could be carrying ‘toxic dart’ guns. Divers and surfers risk attack, they claim, from a species considered to be among the planet’s smartest. The US navy admits it has been training dolphins for military purposes, but has refused to confirm that any are missing

In other news, Tyrone won the All-Ireland. I was a bit disappointed, seeing as was cheering Ciarraí Abú, but Tyrone were the better team, and more than deserved the victory. Course, I’d be a lot happier with Tyrone’s victory if they’d only have a wee word with Mr. Mulligan about that hair

Week 135

Published by Fence under Sport, Weekly memes

Seems like my saga of supporting losing teams has come to a middle. This week I had to pick between Tyrone and Armagh. I chose to support Armagh, mainly because of the wonder that is Owen Mulligan’s hair.
Honestly, how could I support a team with that hair ;) So Armagh it was. And of course they lost. By a single point, after a really close, intense game. Maybe I’ll say I’m supporting Tyrone so that I won’t jinx Kerry in the final?

Kerry & CorkOnly three left in it now. Cork were well beaten by Kerry, who now have to wait for the winners of the match between Armagh and Tyrone. I seem to have developed a habit of supporting the losing team. I wanted Dublin to win this weekend, and they lost. Same with Cork. Previously I was cheering Laois. They won at first, but then lost.

So, I have to choose between Armagh and Tyrone now. I think I’ll go for Armagh, but I know that in the final I’ll be cheering for Kerry. Afterall, they do have the Gooch.
