X-Man First ClassCharles Xavier and Eric Lensherr weren’t always the famous Professor X and Magento. This is their origin story, the origin story of the original X-Men. Set in the 1960s with the Cuban Missile crises at boiling point, the pot of tensions is being stirred further by Sebastian Shaw, a mutant who has been doing the rounds since the 1940s. He believes that mutants are the superior race, and that they must destroy the inferior human race in order to take their rightful place as masters of the earth. Lebensraum and all that.

Summer of night by

It is the last day of school at “Old Central”, the building is being decommissioned and after the summer holidays the children will be going to a new school. Tubby Coakes isn’t about to hang around for the final bell. He has his bathroom pass and isn’t about to go back to class. Unfortunately for Tubby his explorations are going to get him killed. Mae Mobley was born on a early Sunday morning in August, 1960.

The Help of the title refers to the black women domestics who worked all other the southern states, the maids and cleaners who went into the homes of “polite” society and looked after children, cleaned house, cooked, and generally looked after everyone before returning to their own homes to do the same there. Specifically this is about two maids, Aibileen and Minny, who agree to tell the story of their lives to Miss Skeeter, a white woman in her twenties who wants to be a writer.
