I probably wouldn’t have gone to see this film if it wasn’t for hearing about it on the podcast so thank you Mark Kermode, because this is a really lovely entertaining funny film.
It has a lot of the usual things that go into an end of high school movie, but that doesn’t make it any the less entertaining because it is all about how it tells that story. Plus it has two girls as the protagonists rather than the usual males, so that is something new.
I also really liked the way it developed the idea that everyone is struggling with their own issues, and no one is that cardboard cut-out bitch or jock, they’re all just people trying to figure out their place in the world.
Overall, two thumbs up.
