Anyone who has been around this blog for a while will know that I love and adore The Fast and the Furious series of films. They started out as just fun action car films, but have grown into something much more. Over the top ridiculous action scenes, yes, but also a hugely diverse cast1 and they really do have such heart. I love them so much.

And whereas in other films seeing a submarine feature in a car chase may have been a wtf is going on here moment, it just works within TFATF ‘verse. Sure it is madness and craziness, but that is part of this world.

Is the plot predictable? Hell yeah! so much so that it even has a bingo card! please don’t use that as a drinking game, you might die!2

But that is part of the appeal of these films. And I think most people know and appreciate that fact. Love it even.

If you didn’t enjoy any of the other TFATF films then this probably isn’t the film for you. And it doesn’t reach the heights of the previous few, but it is still a damn fine bit of entertainment. I’ll certainly be watching it again.

  1. although they could do with giving the female characters more to do

  2. although one or two of those don’t make it into F8
