Those of you who have been with this blog for years, back before I only really put up reviews might recall Lady Mew. Very sad to report that I had to have her put to sleep on Friday :(
She’d been losing weight, and so we took a trip to the vet. Her heart murmur had gotten worse, she’s had that since birth I think, so she was put on heart medication. And she seemed to improve. But then she got a bit lethargic, and on Thursday she wasn’t interested in her dinner and just wanted to lie in her bed. She wouldn’t eat again on Friday morning so I dropped her into the vet first thing.
This time it was her liver that wasn’t working, so the vet put her on a drip to flush her out, but in the afternoon she took a turn for the worse. And she was just so weak that the decision had to be taken.
Poor Mew, she was a great cat. She really loved people, she’d trot down the stairs whenever she heard anyone come home, mewing to say hello. And head-butting you gently to say hello.
The boss of the house where all the other pets were concerned.
I’m so, so sorry :(
Ana @ things mean a lot´s last blog post ..Belated Sunday Links
Thanks Ana. Very upset, but am glad that it was so quick. Would’ve hated to think of her suffering at all.
Oh D., I’m so sorry…
Thanks Anne
Heartbreaking news, it’s so sad when one of our cat-people go. At least they can go gently into that good night. Condolences.
This is true, was so glad she didn’t suffer at all. She went very quickly, so a bigger shock, but better for her.
I am sorry for your loss!
Thanks Kailana.
I’ve been away from the blog world for awhile so I didn’t see this until now… I’m really sorry about your sweet kitty, Fence. :(
Thanks Kelly
Still miss her, of course
