Okay, so if you haven’t read the other 12 books in this series then you have no business going anywhere near this one. And if you have, then nothing I can say one way or the other will stop you reading this. I mean, you’ve come so far, why on earth would you stop now?
For the same reason there is no real point in me doing any sort of a plot recap. The only real thing to say is that it is really all beginning to kick off now. Those books where nothing happened, well, all their “happenings” end up here.
Okay, so there are some parts where you do notice that RJ isn’t around. But for the most part this book is an excellent read. It is a real page-turner, with so much going on, that in some places you’re thinking, maybe things should slow down a little.
I have to say that I enjoyed this a lot, more than the previous book, but at the same time some of it did stand out as not being quite right for Jordan, which is understandable as Sanderson isn’t Jordan and shouldn’t be expected to write like him.

But I nit pick. Overall, two thumbs up from me.

I'm glad you enjoyed this. I've read some really positive reviews on this one, one that went to great lengths talking about how this book seemed to finally make some of the more dry volumes in the middle pay off. It will be interesting to see how you and other Jordan fans feel after the last volume is out. Was it all worth it? I read the first 3 or 4 and then got tired of waiting and gave up. And then heard a lot about how bad some of the later books were. I know I'll be especially curious about how it all ends and those opinions will probably sway me one way or the other about whether or not I'll go back and start the series over again.
Carl I loved the first few books, so I may be biased. And yes, some of the middle books did… drag a litter I suppose, but I think that is because of the wait in between books. I think reading them one after another with no enforced gap would work really well. It'd take a while mind :)
I'm really happy for Brandon Sanderson, and for all you long suffering Jordan fans, that this is working out so well. I just finally reached a point where I couldn't take the waiting anymore. Which makes me wonder why I started reading A Song of Fire and Ice series this year. :)
