This style of urban fantasy/horror seems to be showing up more and more. Of course there is Laurell K Hamilton’s series which is still bewilderingly popular, and this is in a similar vein. Well, similar to the early ones in that series, there is less focus on sex. And of course in Hamilton’s world everyone knows about the monsters. In Dresden’s most people don’t. But they have the same general tone; murders, crimes, monsters, bit of humour, narrator addressing the reader, all that sort of thing.
Fool Moon is an average book. Nothing special, but it isn’t a bad read either, perfect for some light entertainment. If you are prepared to accept descriptions of blood splattered corpses of course.
I've said many a time that I am somewhat ashamed to have not read a Butcher book yet since I work in the city in which he lives. I've read several books that have been compared to his work, does that count? :)

hmmm… thanks for the review. i think the fact that there are lots of this kind of book, its not a bad idea to be selective and wait till i hear of or find one thats a bit more special.
although, that said, i happen to get my hands on a copy of this (or one of his others) then i'm sure i'll enjoy it.
It is a very average book JP, I wouldn't go out of my way looking for more, but I wouldn't turn up my nose at reading another by him either
Sounds like a skipster. I've never read a Laurel K. Hamilton, but I read something that sounds a bit similar, by Sparkle Hayter. It was fun, but convinced me that werewolves are not my thing.
