I never thought I’d feel sorry for Paris Hilton.
Of course, I never even suspected that I’d ever have cause to even mention her name here. I mean she has never done anything of interest. She is boring. I don’t think she is good looking. I know nothing about her life[1] Or at least I used to be able to say that.
and the world is little worse off
Back when Paris meant that city in France, do you remember that, and when Hilton was a hotel? Those were good days. fx: nostalgia But then she became famous, I’m not quite sure for what[2] Possibly that sex tape that seemed to sweep[3] the internet. I dunno why. But now she’s in jail, come on, don’t you feel a little bit of sympathy for her as an actual person and not as this “celebrity whore”. Don’t get me wrong, she deserves it, she probably deserves a lot worse than what she actually receiving in jail, but does anyone who hasn’t murdered a hundred thousand babies really deserve to the subject of so much bile and hatred? Cheering when you hear that she is upset? What exactly has she done that is deserving of so much media coverage? What has she done that deserves that much hatred? Yes, drink driving is bad. M’kay. And then driving when you weren’t supposed to, even though you could probably easily afford a chauffeur. But is it evilness? The whole delight in her misfortune. That’s just low peoples. Do what I do[4] ignore her[5] it is the best for everyone.
After all without all the media coverage people wouldn’t be outraged by her “being famous for being famous” now would they? You have no one to blame but yourself. No one.
- apart from as portrayed on South Park, and that was fantabulous ↩
- I think humanity just likes having someone to gossip about. Used to be royalty but weve gotten rid of most of that crap so now we have the pointlessness that is celebrity ↩
- Remember when that link was all that showed up in spam comments? ↩
- not what I type, cause obviously this whole post means I amnt ignoring her. ↩
- actually I am. Ignoring Paris Hilton that is, because this isnt really about her, it is about the reaction of people in general. So HA! I still wins ↩
Put that way, I do feel kinda sorry for her. But she did need to go to jail to show that no one is above the law, no matter how famous/rich.
Those who sought to help her (by persuading the sheriff to let her go free) have made things far worse than they could have imagined.
No, I haven't been cheering at her misery and I don't hate her – underneath it all, she's an ordinary person so if she's committed a crime, she should be incarcerated just like any other ordinary person.
Exactly weenie. She is just a person, and if we all stopped reading about her in trashy magazines then they'd stop writing about her and we could all stop moaning about people being famous for being famous.
Exactly my thoughts, Fence. I have been trying to ignore Ms. Hilton for years now. At the moment it's just a bit harder than usual. Her being famous at all just boggles my mind, but then she is not the only one who's famous for nothing. And you're right, as long as people lap up everything the media has to say about her, she will go right on living her useless life being famous and unwittingly annoying people to death. I think, most people just love to hate Paris. They would probably miss something if she wasn't there anymore.
When she had to go to jail, I wasn't particularly gleeful or anything, I just casually hoped they would lock her up and throw away the key. Alas, no luck. But, really, making fun of retarded people like her is like kicking a puppy. She can't really help it. Let's just be glad we are not her.
Yup. Right on, Fence.
I've been trying to ignore Paris Hilton for years. She is a no-talent, celebrity only because she has a lot of money. I don't get it now…and I never did. But I have to be truthful, I don't feel an ounce of sympathy for her. To breeze through life thinking she can do whatever she wants to do without any consequences….all because she has a family with money makes me angry. I'm glad she didn't get to buy her way out of jail. I think she should have the same punishment as any other person in this country. I will save my sympathy for someone that deserves it!!
That being said, I hate the gossip and the media attention this is getting. It's really not cool that she is being parading in front of the entire country.
Samulli, Heather Anne, let us continue to ignore her. I know I won't be mentioning her again ;)
Stephanie, I agree that she deserve the jail time. No question. It just the constant hounding I don't agree with.
I feel some sympathy for anyone who is in jail, celeb or no, but when they earn the time I don't feel too much sympathy. This is hopefully the wake up call she needs to get her life in order. If that happens then it was time well spent. In the end she was treated (somewhat) like an actual person as opposed to a celeb and I think that is a good thing.
