TT#13

Thirteen Books I own, but that are still waiting for me to read.

  1. Image of Memory and DreamsMemory and Dreams by Charles De Lint.
I’m thinking I’ll add this to my Once Upon a Time reading list.
  2. Image of A Wrinkle in TimeA Wrinkle in Time as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. i think this may be more sci-fi than fantasy, but I’m sticking it on the additional Once Upon a Time reading list as well. I may not get to it in time. Then again, I may.
  3. Image of The Blue GirlAnother Charles De Lint; The Blue Girl
One already on my Once Upon a Time reading list.
  4. Image of Fitzpatrick's WarFitzpatrick’s War
Don’t really know much about this book. Sci-fi, futuristic earth type thing I reckon.
  5. Image of Vampire Diaries #1The first book in the Vampire Diaries series.
Andi mentioned these ages and ages ago. And I think Heather did to? Haven’t managed to read it yet. But I’ll get there eventually.
  6. Image of Black JuiceBlack Juice
A collection of short stories. This is one that I’m adding to the Once Upon a Time list as it looks perfect.
  7. Image of Fool MoonThis is the second in the Dresden Files series.
I haven’t read the first so I’m not sure when I’ll get to this.
  8. Image of Long John SilverLong John Silver
Pirates! And that is all the explanation needed.
  9. Quozl I bought because I’ve heard good things about the author, Alan Dean Foster.
  10. Image of Cordelia's HonorCordelia’s Honor
I’ve read one or two by the same author, and enjoyed her books so I’ll give this one a go at some stage. Mind you, this is one of her sci-fi ones and I’ve only read her fantasy previously.
  11. Image of Tree and Leaf ; Smith of Wootton Major ; The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth, Beorhthelm's SonTree and Leaf ; Smith of Wootton Major ; The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth, Beorhthelm’s Son
I’ve had this Tolkien book on my shelves for ages and ages. No idea why I haven’t actually read it yet, but it is another I’m adding to my Once Upon a Time reading list.
  12. Image of FablesFables: Wolves
I don’t actually own this yet. But I still really want to read it, so I’m listing it here :)

  1. I read A Wrinkle In Time when I was a child, but I don’t remember much about it. I should revisit it some time. I’ve heard of The Dresden Files and Long John Silver, but never read them, and I’m not familiar with the other books. But it looks like you have plenty to keep you busy!!

  2. I’ll let you know how I get on Barbara

  • I read it when I was 9 and I enjoyed it. I remember thinking at the time that it was a great concept for a book and could have been so much better, but was decent overall thanks to some memorable chapters. However, back then I thought The Goonies had great acting, so this is not a very reliable endorsement.

  • Decent will do me fine

  • The only one I’ve read is A Wrinkle in Time and that’s been years ago.

  • It does seem the most popular

  • The Vampire Diaries were my favorite books in middle school. They got me hooked on going to the library and checking out books.

  • I have heard good stuff about this alright. I’m not to sure if I want to be hooked on any new series though ;)

  • I’m putting in a vote for you to read A Wrinkle In Time, which I’m rereading for the Once Upon a Time Challenge, and whole heartedly recommend. It’ll be fun to talk about!

  • Well I’ve just started The Blue Girl for the challenge, but after that I think it’ll be A Wrinkle in Time

  • What a great list!! I have a few of those books myself. I’m going to be reading A Wrinkle in Time for the Newberry Challenge. I can’t believe I’ve lived my life this long and never read it!

  • Thanks for your comment over on my site.
I like your idea for a list of TBR books. Unfortunately, when I am looking at my bookshelves, I would have enough for 5 or more T13 lists gathering dust there. ;o)
How come you only did 12? Or did I miss anything?
As a Tolkien fan I can only recommend reading “Tree and Leaf”. I don’T have this book in particular, but I have read most of Tolkiens stories elsewhere and “Leaf by Niggle”, which should be included in this volume, is my all-time favorite short story of Tolkien.

  • Hope you enjoy it Chris.
Stephanie, I’ll look forward to hearing what you think of it.

Samulli, oops :) Can’t believe I forgot the 13th book. It is Sunne in Splendour by Sharon K Penman, which I’m reading along with the HistoricalFavorites group.
