Just call me Oscar

I officially hate everyone!

Okay, so I’m not at the “lip curling, teeth bared” stage quite yet, but the stabbing people in their soft underbellies with pens[1] sounds about right. It isn’t really that they’ve done anything specifically to annoy me, but somehow everything they do is annoying me. What with their walking and their talking. What is that all about?

So I headed off to amazon for some impulse purchases, and what I’ve ordered is:

  • The Rest Falls Away by Colleen Gleason, Carl liked it, as did Quixotic and I haven’t spotted it in any offline bookshops. And Play doesn’t have it, which is why I went to amazon despite now having to pay for postage.
  • Vampire Diaries: The Awakening I’ve no idea what this is about, but it was something like €4 and “recommended” so I figured what the hell.
  • The Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop, cause one of my book groups is reading it.

  1. or maybe blunt pencils. I haven’t quite made up my mind yet

oh what kind of a grouch are you? sharpen the pencils, at least!

  2. Fence says:

Don't be silly Anne, blunt pencils'd be so much harder to pierce the skin, thereby causing greater pain.
Sharp pencils = far too easy.

Hey, I'm getting to comment! Woo-wee!!!

Sorry you feel like Oscar. Good impulse purchases!!!

    Welcome back Carl!
All I gotta do now is find the time to read them :) When they arrive that is.

Ooh, Oscar was always my Sesame Street favourite! I quite fancy the Colleen Gleason book, but unless it turns up in my local library, I'll probably not read it til next year. Yeah, A Game of Thrones, or rather George RR Martin's a Song of Ice And Fire series is excellent. Given the kind of books that you read, I'd say that you would probably enjoy them.

  6. Fence says:

I'd say I would too weenie, but the series isn't finished yet, asaik, and I'm reluctant to start a big ol' series without and end in sight.

Have you heard that HBO are turning it into a television series. At least that's what I've heard.

The audacity of people to walk and talk…will it never end?

  8. Fence says:

    Only when I "Fork 'em"

  9. sally says:

    Yep…that will do!

Ooh just caught up on your reply – they're making a TV series of ASOIAF..wow!

  11. Fence says:

Yup, HBO are involved, I think the plan is to do a season for each book, but not too sure.
