I’m pretty sure that the whole world and its mother have posted about Steve Irwin. But, still. Poor old Terri, not to mention the kids.
And all those idiots saying he got what he deserved?! wtf, so if someone gets knocked down by a car and killed, well, they got what they deserved for crossing the road?

He was an extraordinarily passionate man who made a huge impression on people all over the world and did a lot of good work for animals. He didn't deserve to die just because he took risks. He didn't just take risks for thrills – there was a reason behind it. I'm sad for Terri and Bindi Sue and Bob. If it doesn't seem possible to us that he's dead, it must be so difficult for them to accept that someone so full of life and passion could be gone. He's with Bindi now, in Animal Heaven. RIP Stevo.
Me and my other half still do impersonations of him when he did a show on spitting cobras. He spent the entire programme going "Awww, it's a spittah!!" and "Good thing I got me sunnies on!"

He died doing what he liked to do best, that's a pretty good way to go, I guess.
It is really sad and even more sad that people would say stuff like that. Its not like he was out capturing or hunting the things to lock up or put on his wall. He did more to bring the love of nature into the lives of children and adults in the last several years than can be measured. I know so many children who love to watch Animal Planet simply because of him. I feel so sorry for his wife and kids.
He'll be missed.
I always thought an animal would have something to do with his death. Very sad.
Totally inappropriate but when I heard about his death that song stingray kept popping into my head.
I wonder if it will make his kids scared of the water now?

I really agree. I think Irwin was a brilliant man and a uniquely sensitive and outspoken conservationist. The world has really lost something special. I think the naysayers tend to ignore that Irwin really brought environmental and especially habitat protection issues to the masses, and especially to the younger generation of kids, many of whom were raised in cities and know virtually nothing about why it's important to respect and preserve animal species.
I felt sadder hearing about his death than I have over someone I didn't know in real life in just about as long as I can remember.

At least it was quick and he didnt suffer much. He was doing the thing he loved – I wanna go out doing something passionate !

Irwin didn't deserve to die. I just hope he was conscious long enough to regret his decision to NOT go to law school.
Nome, I hear Bindi has said she wants to go ahead with the show that herself and Steve were filming, Jungle Girl, I think it is called. Not sure if that really is the best idea.
