I have found the song. It is amazing I found it considering the only recolection of the song was “all things go”.

But thanks to the title of your blog I was able to find the artist and song (Sufjan Stevens, Chicago).

Mine would be fit, comfort, suitabilitity (does it suit me, will I wear it) and price. Price usually comes last because I have a credit card.
Also I very rarely even step inside shops where I can’t afford to buy stuff. But the past few months, price is more of an issue. *Shrug*

I have style but fit and comfort mess it up for me.

How can he not have noticed the 80’s look? It is everywhere and totally hidgis.

And your three factors are, to me, the most important in buying clothes.

NM, I am going to have to disagree with you. City Shorts are always Sick, Wrong, and Goofy-looking. I have to believe that the person who invented them actually hates women.

Fence, I’ve been complaining to Peter about the 80s look for weeks, but he hasn’t really noticed. The big knotted strands of pearls were my first clue.

I have a horrible time shopping in general because I just have no real style and no interest in fashion. All of my decisions are based on three factors - comfort, fit, and price. (And yeah, that’s pretty much listed in order of importance.)

I’d come down on the “it is the only stuff in the shops” unless, of couse you want to wear granny clothes.

I’m not totally against parts of the 80’s, but there is just far too much of the nasty stuff out there.
But you are probably right, in a few months we’ll all have huge backcombed hair and think nothing of it.

I was arguing (endlessly and about many topics) with the Mal-meister last night about people being clones who all wear the same things and want to look like copies of each other (his idea) but I reckoned a lot of it is down to what’s available in the shops. And also because the first time you see city shorts you think “wuo de tien ah, what was she THINKING?” and the second time, it’s still laughable and then after a few million pairs march past you it ceases to be something hideous and wrong but just part of the normal pageant of life. Although I’d still never wear them, they don’t look half as stupid and horrible as I used to think they were.

So maybe if it goes on long enough, you’ll end up wearing 80s stuff because EVERYTHING is now 80s and because your senses have become so blunted by the ubiquitousness of the clothing, you don’t see what’s wrong with it any more.
