The Break-Up dir. by

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us You all know I’m a fan of Vince Vaughn’s, so I was quite looking forward to this. Plus the trailers looked entertaining, though we do know that you can never trust a trailer, so I was a little hopeful. I hadn’t heard great things, but, then again, I don’t go out of my way to read reviews before I’ve seen a film.

I’d have to say that this is a good solid film, but nothing spectacular. It makes you laugh, it makes you identify with the characters, it is entertaining. But nothing special. So I suppose, yet again, a meh-film.

Don’t go expecting a rom-com, because while there is romance, and there is comedy, it doesn’t conform to the genre. Lucky me, I pay no heed to genre, but if that is what you are looking for then the Break-Up is not for you.

If however you are looking for an entertaining few hours, with a few laughs thrown in, then by all means, go see this. I won’t be raving about it though. That being said, there are a few nice scenes. Mainly Vaughn’s comedic ones, but also a few of the more “dramatic” ones. But overall, it isn’t enough to make you want to watch it again.
