Could you PLEASE send somebody up as quickly as possible? He opened the computer with a screwdriver and is looking for his missing fonts

- I’ve been covering, cataloguing and stamping books all afternoon. My hands feel icky, despite having been just washed. Not dirty, but sorta gritty or something.
- IT guy came down to blow up some computers.
That’s only half a joke. He actually came down to take a look at the two that just won’t switch on. So he goes down, does something[1] and there is this huge bang[2] like a bomb just went off or something. All the students go “woah, dude”[3] and he wanders back up to me. “Yup, they’re on fire. I’ll get them replaced tomorrow.”[4]
- Veronica Mars season 2 dvd has, and I quote “amazing extras”. Now, I know that’s got you interested. What could they be? Special money releasing devices, cause that’d be amazing. Or the cast in miniature so they could do extra scenes just for you? Which’d be equally amazing.
Sadly, no. The extras are Behind the scenes featurette, gag reel and deleted scenes. All good, but hardly amazing. From that article it also seems likely that it has gotten picked up for a third season. But not definite yet.
- the end

- who knows what, it is that arcane IT dept ↩
- look, I’ve said it before, exaggeration is a GOOD thing ↩
- again with the lying but I can’t help it ↩
- what do you mean you want truth? Okay so, some power-thingy is fried most likely due to a power surge. he’ll fix it tomorrow, maybe ↩

brilliant bit of exageration – i don't mind a bit! i expecially dig the title as i work in IT and have heard exactly that statement (or close to it) – not sure if you've seen this site, but you should get a kick out of it: Computer Stupidities
oh wait, looking below i see you've already linked that page – sry, sometimes, i'm kinda blind
So exaggeration works for you, but not for the extras on the VM DVD, then, is that it…? ;)
That's perfectly okay mysfit, I cunningly hide the sources of all my titles in the excerpts :)
Yes anne. Exactly. We never mentioned anything about consistency did we? Hmmmm
I love bloggers who can exaggerate. I amen't very good at it. I especially love those who exaggerate about their home lives, like dooce. At least I hope she's exaggerating.
Oh, I haven't been by dooce in an age. Thanks for the reminder Ann
Ooh, I can be of some use. I was watching a programme while in the US where they were talking about which series had been picked up for next year, and your VM was among them. So yes, there will be a season 3. Good job too, as it seems to be about the only thing on US television that doesn't have either "Law & Order" or "CSI" in the title.
W00t!
You jest, I know… but sometimes I actually feel like doing that, get down to brass tacks with the pc and a screwdriver.
Squeee! WOOt! YAY! Meaninglesswordsofjoy!
CSI: Neptune would never take off, any more than CSI: Springfield. Incompetent and probably corrupt CSI people would be far too real life for tv watchers.
Darling honeychile, I got a LOVELY letter from the Copper Copper. Oh, she sounds so happy! It nearly made me cry. I was so worried about her doing this job and worried that she shouldn't be up there and everything but now that she is, she's so HAPPY! It's wonderful.
Had brief meeting with broker. Things are looking up!
I love my migraine drug. I can't believe I'm having such a good day when it started out migrainous. OK, so I needed about six hours sleep on top of the drug and I had side-effecty heart-burn and a bit of wooziness but now, I'm on top of the world.
That's good to hear. I must send her a text at some stage this weekend.
Have a nice weekend of study ;)
“Yup, they’re on fire."…. not something you generally want to hear from an IT person, is it?
