so there I was, making my usual round of blogs when I got to Whedonesque. I’d read last week about the rumours that a few of the Firefly actors had been seen leaving an exec building[1]
And now it appears as if we may be getting what we deserve:

I’ve heard the CW is considering bringing it back as a series, miniseries or movie for next season. Hurrah! For you who missed my message board posting, on Tuesday, Nate Fillion, Summer Glau and Gina Torres were seen coming out of one of the exec buildings at Paramount, where they are putting together the new CW unit.
Course this is still all nothing but rumour and speculation, and given Joss’s comment saying that his phone is silent, lets not hope too much. (whedonesque may be down due to overload of people hoping and praying it is true)

I CAN'T hope any more. I am going to draw a line under Firefly/Serenity and thank God for a perfect half-season and a wonderful film. I will not ask for more, when I have already received more than I ever could have hoped.

<spoiler>It would be disappointing to have a TV series without Wash. I would love to see another movie in the future but the problem with that is Whedon left some big shoes to fill. Who would he have to kill off next time? I can't imagine him making a movie in which he killed off 2 beloved characters only to turn around and make one in which no one dies. Don't get me wrong, I don't want anyone else to die but I can't see him pushing the envelope with Serenity and then not doing so with a follow up film. </spoiler> I'd still like to see more of the Firefly universe though! One can dream…

And then, it almost WAS the doctor and I cried, "NO! Why couldn't it be that gorram Joss Whedon!" Not really. I was pretty mad/sad, though. It truly wouldn't be the same series without Wash. He was my favorite.
Maybe, though, NM's right. Maybe it was all a ruse and he's gone into hiding. We can pretend that.</spoiler>
