As I may not have mentioned I am away for the weekend. I’m heading up to Sligo and so will be offline till Monday. So to keep you all occupied over the weekend I give you …
the pointless movie quiz type thing.[1] It is under the cut, cause otherwise this post would be too long.
In other news I went to see The New World last night. Good lord, it is boring.
Not the pic quiz, because I don’t have the time to go searching for screencaps at the mo’, instead it is film quotes. All you have to do is id the film the quotes come from. If they are all guessed by before I get back, feel free to post your own for others to guess in the comments section:
- “You’re gonna need a bigger boat”. (A very easy one to start)
- “Your argument for the inverse ratio of capital to debt was genius. Now if we could only get congress not to be so short sighted”
- “There’s too much learning going on at that school”
- “hope I give you the shits, you fucking wimp”
- “There’s a family with kids. Do the kids and make the mother watch. Tell her you’ll stop if she can hold back her tears”
- “I talk to God all the time, and, no offense, but he never mentioned you”
- “You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles.”
- “I’m a god. I’m not *the* God… I don’t think”
- “That is our tragedy: butchers’ hands, and gentle souls”
- “I’ve got a… dwarf, and I’m not afraid to use him! “
- “God came to me last night and told me your purpose for being here. I am going to help you write a new book”
- “WE hates them! it’s ours it is, and we wants it!” (and an easy one to finish on)
Have a good weekend.
- I suppose I could have worked on a better title ↩
Does it count if I say "Oh, that I've seen, and that, and that" but can't remember the titles off hand?
Plus "Jaws".
Also, you didn't mention "no googling". Does that mean it's allowed? (worth a try…)
Love the new look.
That fox is particularly cute.
Have a nice weekend.
Yet again, Pretty Cunning quizes elude me entirely.
I didn't get a single one.
1. JAWS
2. Wedding Crashers
3. Friday Night Lights
4. Dog Soldiers
6. Ladyhawke
7. Princess Bride
10.Corpse Bride
12. The Two Towers
I googled the rest to check. I shoulda knows one or two of them. DAMN.
5. Dogville
8. Groundhog Day
and 11 sounds like Misery, but I'm not totally sure about that.
Interesting, my daughter and her best friend, both 13, went and saw The New World and they said the exact same thing. I thought maybe it was just because they were kids but evidently the boredom translates all the way to the adult level! Thanks for the heads up!
No, you're right FM. Can't believe I didn't get Misery. Sigh. I am no longer a Film Freak.
Also, and thank god for comment preview… Happy Birthday! Have a lovely, spoilt-rotten weekend.
Happy Birthday!
Is it your birthday?!?!? Happy Birthday Fence!!!! I wish you all the very best!
Did someone say birthday? Happy Birthday Fence!!
Oh, I love the picture of the fox!
Happy Birthday!
Looks like number 9 has defeated you all.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Went home, got my cake, and a cold, which wasn't great, but at least I got to snuggle on the couch and didn't have to do anything all weekend.
Carl, the New World is boring. I don't think I've ever seen more people walk out of the cinema.
Oh, and 9 is from Munich.
Oh, my poor Fence. Glad you got a cake anyway. And you can't possibly blame me for the cold, since I haven't seen you in so long. :-) Snuggling on the couch sounds nice. Did you borrow Anchorman or will I bring it on Tuesday? xx
No fair! I haven't seen Munich yet!
NM, bring Anchorman. Didn't nab it from home. Didn't even look, although I did steal the Sunday Times' free Director's cut of Donnie Darko.
FM, you should. It is very good :)
Roger, wilco.
I never really mind not getting the quotes from fillums I haven't seen. Don't feel bad FM (she said patronisingly…)
