Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.

After scientists have found a new planet with three suns a mere 149 light years away and named it Tatooine, the question must now be raised, when will Lucas sue?

Course the real news is all this brouhaha about Roy Keane and his loser comments/rant about his team-mates. Sky News this morning were loving it, and it seems that most of the british tabloid press have gone to town on psycho-Keane and his ranting and raving about not winning. And it seems that a lot of websites are bringing up examples of previous out-bursts. Of course the fact of the matter is that we don’t really know what Roy said because we haven’t seen it, have we?

Keane is believed to have castigated five of his team-mates in an interview which was due to be screened by the club’s own television station - MUTV - yesterday but was pulled from the schedules following the direct intervention of chief executive David Gill.

And there is also the fact that most of the time his rants are quite understandable[1] Is he a bit of a thug? Well incidents like the Alf-Inge Haaland tackle[2] say it all. But still, a lot of what he says makes sense, besides, anyone giving out about Man Utd isn’t going to get too much grief, from the ABU-ers anyways

Plus you know, the whole media spin going into overdrive and whats that old saying; no such thing as bad publicity?

I was going to post something about today being the official start of Winter, but now I don’t think I’ll bother.

The edited bit

More news from MUTV and the Roy Keane comment saga. Turns out that MUTV have burned the tape. Destroyed it. How hi-larious is that? (extracts below are from todays Irish Times - sub’s req’d)

Ferguson has never had to deal with mutiny on the scale presented by Keane’s blistering outburst to the club’s in-house television station, an interview so explosive the show’s producers, under duress from the club’s chief executive David Gill, have destroyed the evidence rather than risk it being leaked … Keane has felt no need to explain himself, let alone offer an apology, and the 34-year-old is said to be distinctly unimpressed United, in football parlance, bottled it. He was described as being unrepentant about identifying six players - reputedly, Rio Ferdinand, Kieran Richardson, Liam Miller, John O’Shea, Darren Fletcher and Alan Smith - during the pulled MUTV programme, Roy Keane Plays the Pundit … should be expected to give frank and honest opinions. If others recoil at his observations, tough … Notably, he[Ferguson] declined to defend Ferdinand.

This Mortal Coil

Published by Fence under Fiction

Not sure what this is all about. I’m also going to stick it on Story-crossing, see if anyone wants to add anything.
The beginning popped into my head while listening to You and Your Sister by This Mortal Coil, hence the title. Also the lyrics provide some of the story-lines, but this is unrelated to the song.
