Cult is where a program is watched avidily by a modest number of people (as opposed to a massive number of people).
So Dream Team is quite cult as it has enough fans to keep going but not enough to make anyone rich and cast big stars.
Simpsons can’t be considered cult…it seems too popular to be cult.
A cult show is one where people either totally get it and totally love it or they totally don’t get it and totally think it sucks.
But does anyone actually LOVE Dream Team? (the horror)
I think that different people have different interpretations of what makes a cult tv show, hence the wide variety of shows mentioned in that top 100 list
