Lazarus the dog?

I’m guessing that, if this is true, the scientists involve wish the headline writers were shot Boffins create zombie dogs.

US scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of clinical death, … subject’s veins are drained of blood and filled with an ice-cold salt solution … three hours later, their blood is replaced and the zombie dogs are brought back to life with an electric shock … Tests show they are perfectly normal, with no brain damage.

  6. Prisoner, I presume the idea (if true, I haven’t seen this story mentioned anywhere else) is to develop a method of suspended animation. The article goes on to mention that it might be useful in preventing a gunshot victim from dying before surgery or something can go ahead.
