Well the Irish Times had a poll (sub req’d) about whether the Lusk shooting were justified.

"More than 70% of respondents to The Irish Times poll said they believed the shootings were justified, despite the fact that only one of the dead raiders was armed."

But support for the Gardaí’s actions was lowest among Sinn Fein voters, young people, and people in Munster
