Oscar time again, can you believe it?

And the nominations are:

Best picture

• The Aviator
• Finding Neverland
• Million Dollar Baby

• Sideways

– I’m guessing The Aviator will win this, the only other one I’ve seen is Finding Neverland, which was good, but the money is still on Mr. Hughes

Best director

• Martin Scorsese – The Aviator
• Clint Eastwood – Million Dollar Baby
• Alexander Payne – Sideways
• Taylor Hackford – Ray
• Mike Leigh – Vera Drake

-Again I’ll go with Scorsese, it’s be nice to see Alexander Payne win though.

Best actor

• Don Cheadle – Hotel Rwanda
• Johnny Depp – Finding Neverland
• Leonardo DiCaprio – The Aviator
• Clint Eastwood – Million Dollar Baby
• Jamie Foxx – Ray

-this is a toughie. I’d like Depp to win. He was very good in Finding Neverland, but DiCaprio was great as Hughes too. And have heard that Foxx is fantastic in Ray. Still I’m hoping for Depp to get it. Then again, have some great reviews of Hotel Rwanda, and that may be a very Oscar-worthy film.

Best actress

• Annette Bening – Being Julia
• Catalina Sandino Moreno – Maria Full of Grace
• Imelda Staunton – Vera Drake
• Hilary Swank – Million Dollar Baby
• Kate Winslet – Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

-I’d say Hilary Swank will win, but who knows. The only one I’ve seen is Kate Winslet, and while she was good I don’t think the role was good enough for an Oscar.

Best supporting actress

• Cate Blanchett – The Aviator
• Laura Linney – Kinsey
• Virginia Madsen – Sideways
• Sophie Okonedo – Hotel Rwanda
• Natalie Portman – Closer

-yet another who knows.

Best supporting actor

• Alan Alda – The Aviator
• Thomas Haden Church – Sideways
• Jamie Foxx – Collateral
• Morgan Freeman – Million Dollar Baby
• Clive Owen – Closer

-purely for his work on Ned & Stacy I;m hoping that Thomas Haden Chruch gets it.

Best original screenplay

• The Aviator
• Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
• Hotel Rwanda
• The Incredibles
• Vera Drake

Best adapted screenplay

• Before Sunset
• Finding Neverland
• Million Dollar Baby
