About getting online, although in all fairness I did blog before I went to Scotland, only when I checked it seems as though the note saying I’ll be away for a mite more seemed to have been wiped off the face of the earth.
Since my last post I have moved out of Dublin, moved home. Applied for a couple of jobs, signed on, gone on holiday and now come back
Also been rewatching Firefly and would just like to tell everyone to go watch it. A great half series and a film coming soon, 22 April 2005 is the due date

but not for long. Am off to Scotland early on Mon but hopefully will be able to post tomorrow. Been busy doing nothing :), you know how it is.
Actually I have been up to a few things. Moved home, unpacked but still have to find places for a few things. Job-hunting. Went back to Dublin in order to collect my passport. Signed on. Bought some DVDs, some clothes and some books. So all in all nothing really interesting happened.
Just finished Alice Borchardt’s The Wolf King and found it very disappointing. Enjoyed the previous two books, but this was fair crap. Also finished Max Barry’s Jennifer Government which was a good fun read, and have started reading A Song for Abaronne and have spelt that incorrectly
but can’t remember the correct spelling nor the author. When I’m using Pavlov tomorrow I’ll stick up a couple of reviews , but am on the wrong computer for that at the moment.

Author: Alice Borchardt
ISBN: 0006483879 DDC: 813.54
Found this to be a very disappointing read. I read the previous two in this series: The Silver Wolf and The Night of the Wolf and while neither of them are spectacularly great novels they were both interesting, well-written stories.
Despite being set in the same world, and dealing with many of the same characters this novel feels half-hearted. As though Borchardt started out with the idea of writing it, but didn’t really put any effort into actually developing the story or the characters. They react and emote, but in sudden outbursts that seem to come from nowhere, and the entire story seems confused and badly laid out. There is a brief flashback that is badly executed and until I had finished reading it I wasn’t actually sure when it had occurred at all.
There is also the fact that there is a main character who never seems to get a name, instead is always described as “The Saxon”.
Overall I just found this lacking in any commitment, as though Borchardt wasn’t that interested in it.
