Vexillology

Published by Fence at 12:38 am under Current Affairs

Isn’t the internet a wonderful place? One learns so many things, for example, that vexillologists are people who are flag aficionadoa, I never knew that before :)
Course the reason I came across the term in Iraq’s new flag, the one with the blue cresent, picked by the Iraqi ruling council.

Personally I don’t like the way it looks, and don’t see the reason it was needed. After all the old flag pre-dates Saddam, although without the “Allah Akbar” phrase. Surely it could have been used to try and create a sense of unity among the people rather than desiging and introducing a whole nuther flag that will, more than likey, merely create divisions?
